Mulder Natural Foods is thriving. The breakfast cereal manufacturer’s business is growing, while the production volumes are steadily rising. To cater for the higher level of activities the company had a new warehouse built in Beveren-Roeselare. This can quite rightly be described as a technical feat: the products are being fully automatically stacked by four giant cranes in a building that is no less than 36 metres high.
The warehouse may be best compared with a 12-storey tower, with products being stored on each floor: raw materials, packaging materials and semi-finished products. The bar has therefore literally been set very high for the giant cranes installed by intrion: operating smoothly and automatically, the cranes are required to put the products in place, retrieve them and introduce them into the manufacturing process.
