Confidence confirmed: pilot results in three subsequent projects

Kuehne & Nagel, one of the world’s largest logistical companies, takes care of the returns logistics for supermarket chain Albert Heijn in the Netherlands. The return flows are collected, sorted and counted in four return centres across the Netherlands. Some of the return products are treated further, such as washing dirty crates.

After a successful pilot project in Tilburg, intrion was appointed by Kuehne & Nagel to automate the return flows in the other three centres. The various crates, rollies and dollies, beer and soft drinks bottles, big bags, etc, are automatically counted to ensure a correct settlement with the supermarkets. An innovative project resulting from outstanding collaboration between the Kuehne & Nagel IT department and automation specialist intrion.
